In June 2004, I set foot in Morocco for the first time. A colleague from the architecture firm in Barcelona where I was working at the time had suggested I take part in a volunteer program with “Arquitectes Sense Fronteres” as an AutoCAD teacher in Morocco.
Arriving at the port of Tangier after a long night spent on the train from Barcelona, a taxi was waiting to take me to Asilah… and back to Tangier at night.
“I’m home!” I thought.
Four years later, I was on a plane with my suitcases, moving to Casablanca—”the monster” according to some Moroccan friends, or “a big city to discover” according to my love for the Maghreb and for challenges.
